Trip to South Carolina

We are true campers!!!! We took our Duckling from the flat lands of Michigan, Indiana, and Kentucky, and then the mountains of Tennessee to land softly in Greenville, S.Carolina!! I did not drive, but my husband did a great job, even while trying to not complain when he had to stop every
3 1/2 hrs to get gas. He was pretty happy with 13 miles to the gallon though.

We stayed at Paris Mountain State Park and had beautiful 60 degree weather with hiking and campfires every night. My daughter was out daily to visit and cook for us. She and Sophie loved our little camper.

We even played dominoes, which was new for my 30yr. old daughter. A slip in my parenting in the early years. She loved it. Saw my brother and sister-in-law as well on their return from their camping trip to the beaches. We are officially a camping family.

We will not speak of the all night torrential rain that continued thru the morning while we broke camp and packed up. I guess it's like having a baby. When you look back at the whole experience and what you got out of it, you barely remember the pain. ;-)

The trip was a great success. We made our way back north to spend two nights in Milford, where we enjoyed the company of the Tin Can Tourists for their Fall Rally. We were lucky to meet up with Frank and Rose who were gracious enough to include us in their family outing. Two of their kids, husbands, wives and grand kids, and cousin too. Great Fun.

Ludington State Park Ludington, MI

Big Sauble Point Light house is very old and has a great little museum inside. You can walk to this sight from the campground. There are also 18 miles of bike and hiking trails.

Great Moments in Michigan Camping

I love to take pictures and I am less than an amateur, but we have seen some beautiful scenery this summer. Thought I'd share.

Sewing Project

As I scrolled down and looked at all the postings on The loyal Order of Glampers facebook page, I ran across a great idea for these cute chair covers. I'm sorry I didn't save it so I don't know her name, but she was very creative and so I borrowed her idea, as she intended.  All the embellishments were added before I sewed the sides together. After I made the first one, I wondered how a pillow case would work for even less sewing and I think it would be great. They come in so many colorways and styles. If there is a fancy edge on a flowered case you could just sew across the top and then cut off the extra and then carefully embellish. Do your own thing and create what works for you.
Enjoy!!

OK, I am making progress with my blog. I hope you like it's look. Thanks to my husband for helping me. In our case it took two heads to get it figured out, but we think we have a handle on it. I am going to make an effort to send this out to a few friends before I make it totally public, so if you get this you are a chosen one. If you see any problems you can help me fix please feel free to comment.
I hope to add some more pictures soon, I made a cover for the back of my folding lawn chairs that I'd like to share. I got the idea from a fellow member of The Loyal Order of Glampers. Thanks to her!!
Have a great week and I hope to be back soon with pics!!

Welcome to the Tin Can Cabin!  I am trying my hand at a blog to share all the fun and thoughts
that go with having a vintage trailer. I hope I can learn  so much more about this blogging activity, which I find so frustrating, but mostly to learn and share with you.
For tonight, snuggle into whatever makes you feel good and I'll be back soon.
