Trip to South Carolina

We are true campers!!!! We took our Duckling from the flat lands of Michigan, Indiana, and Kentucky, and then the mountains of Tennessee to land softly in Greenville, S.Carolina!! I did not drive, but my husband did a great job, even while trying to not complain when he had to stop every
3 1/2 hrs to get gas. He was pretty happy with 13 miles to the gallon though.

We stayed at Paris Mountain State Park and had beautiful 60 degree weather with hiking and campfires every night. My daughter was out daily to visit and cook for us. She and Sophie loved our little camper.

We even played dominoes, which was new for my 30yr. old daughter. A slip in my parenting in the early years. She loved it. Saw my brother and sister-in-law as well on their return from their camping trip to the beaches. We are officially a camping family.

We will not speak of the all night torrential rain that continued thru the morning while we broke camp and packed up. I guess it's like having a baby. When you look back at the whole experience and what you got out of it, you barely remember the pain. ;-)

The trip was a great success. We made our way back north to spend two nights in Milford, where we enjoyed the company of the Tin Can Tourists for their Fall Rally. We were lucky to meet up with Frank and Rose who were gracious enough to include us in their family outing. Two of their kids, husbands, wives and grand kids, and cousin too. Great Fun.
